The pinnacle of Celestron's ED scopes, Celestron 80ED Refractor Spotting Scope is packed with great features and excellent optics. The refractor style 80-ED (APO) features a 2" rack and pinion focuser and has a bracket that can adapt to a photo tripod or attach to Celestron's Advanced GT equatorial mount. Refractor's ED glass provides excellent color correction and razor sharp images for serious nature and bird watchers, and virtually eliminates chromatic aberration usually seen during planetary and lunar viewing. With a focal length of 600mm (f/7.5) 80mm ED Refractor Spotting Scope-52280 is well suited for wide field astrophotography as well as nature photography. If you're using another 1.25" eyepiece you simply divide 600 by the focal length of the eyepiece to determine the magnification. 80 mm ED Refractor Spotter 52280 comes complete with a 25mm 1.25" eyepiece, erect image diagonal and 6x30 finderscope. I have had one of these for about a year now and have enjoyed it so much. It gives very sharp images whether I'm looking at terrestrial or astronomical objects. I am constantly amazed at what this little scope can do. Contrast when viewing the moon is just fantastic. This is perhaps one of the ultimate choices for a grab and go telescope. Pros: Very sharp images Cons: none
