I have used this lens for a number of years with an epi-fluor adapter. I recently figured out how to make my own Hoffman Modulation Contrast filters out of slide film and was able to insert it into the back of this lens; its working out well. I decided to get another 30w for routine work. This is a very sharp lens and is a bargain. Pros: stunningly sharp, cheap for what it does. Cons: water immersion requires a little more effort than a dry lens.

An excellent objective at a very reasonable price. Ideal for amateur microscopists and presumably useful for professionals too. Pros: Superb images Cons: Need adaptor to use on 160 mm Zeiss stand
